|
At Hannaford State School we have identified several broad priority areas for 2008 - 2010 through our Triennial School Review. This review was based on an Appreciate Inquiry model and had input from all members of the school community. Our key priority areas from this plan for 2009 are as follows: Refining the Hannaford State School Curriculum Plan created at the end of 2008 and to support this: Professional development for all general classroom teachers around using the Essential Learnings and assessment and alignment in unit planning, Implementing the revised Smart Classrooms Framework and supporting staff in integrating ICTs into everyday school life. Literacy Continued use of the Sound Waves program to develop phonological awareness Principal
involvement in Network activities to support the enactment of the school
literacy plan Numeracy Begin using a new Mathematics program that is designed to cover the Essential Learnings and Ways of Working - iMaths ICTs Further staff training (and other staff within the Tara Cluster/The Downs District) in either ICT Certificate or ICT Pedagogical Licence (use of Principal – Kay Denning as ICT PL Facilitator). Continue
implementing iPod program using 3rd Gen iPod Nanos for students to
take home and share their work with parents and foster
connectivity with wider community. Facility Development Use the Investing in Our Schools funding received to complete the grounds revitalization project – shade to be installed over the new playground, swings and resurfaced bitumen area. Access the Building Education Revolution funds to revitalize our classrooms and renovate our resourced centre. School Values Based on the Values for Australian Schooling and The Code of School Behaviour begin developing a set of school values that relate to learning and behaviour at school. School Website Develop a new school website using Joomla to better promote Hannaford State School and the wonderful learning experiences that students are having. This will enhance communications between the school and community and allow others from beyond the local area to learn about our school. |
